United States Team Ready to Impact World Cup 2010 Probabilities

United States coach Bob Bradley names his 23-man roster on Wednesday and there are a few recognizable names on it. There are several new players including Edson Buddle and Herculez Gomez, and Landon Donovan and DaMarcU.S. Beasley are on the team again. There were 7 people cut from the team. They were defenders Heath Pearce and Chad Marshall; midfielders Alejandro Bedoya, Sacha Kljestan and Robbie Rogers; and forwards Eddie Johnson and Brian Ching.
Donovan, Beasley, and defender Steve Cherundolo will be competing in their third World Cup in 2010. The majority of the people on the U.S. lineup come from Europe. In fact, 17 of the 23 people have been competing in Europe. There are two from Mexican teams and 4 from the MLS. Eight of the players have been competing in England, three in Germany, two in Scotland, and in one in Italy, France, Norway and Denmark.
The United States are listed at 52-1, making them a long shot to win the World Cup. They are the 2nd choice to win Group C behind England. England is the odds-on favorite at -325 while the U.S. is 4-1 to win Group C. Slovenia and Algeria are not expected to be a great deal of danger in that group.
